Community Code of Conduct

NidFul’s mission is to elevate African security talent while protecting organizations and citizens. This code of conduct reflects the standards developed within our community.

Core Principles

  1. Respect – Treat researchers, program owners, and NidFul staff courteously.
  2. Integrity – Report only vulnerabilities discovered through authorised testing.
  3. Privacy – Do not disclose sensitive information outside agreed channels.
  4. Inclusivity – Foster a community that welcomes diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Expected Behaviour

  • Communicate professionally in reports, comments, and community forums.
  • Honour safe-harbor policies and local laws during testing.
  • Use disclosure channels responsibly—no leaking, extortion, or harassment.
  • Provide constructive feedback and collaborate on remediation.

Unacceptable Behaviour

  • Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, nationality, religion, or any protected characteristic.
  • Attempting to exploit vulnerabilities for personal gain outside the agreed bounty or disclosure process.
  • Publishing private program details without consent.
  • Sharing tools or payloads that cause destructive testing beyond scope.

Zero tolerance

NidFul enforces zero tolerance for harassment and malicious abuse. Violators can lose access to programs, forfeit rewards, and face legal action.

Reporting Violations

  • Email conduct@nidful.com with detailed information.
  • Reports remain confidential and are reviewed by a dedicated trust & safety team.
  • Depending on severity, NidFul may coordinate with affected programs or authorities.

Consequences

  • Written warning and education.
  • Temporary suspension from programs.
  • Permanent removal from NidFul and partner communities.
  • Notification to relevant organizations or law enforcement where required.

Building Together

  • Mentor newcomers and share knowledge responsibly.
  • Participate in community meetups, webinars, and forums.
  • Celebrate positive contributions—highlight researchers and programs living the values.
